About Mystic State

Hailing from Bristol, UK, Mystic State is a tour-de-force in electronic music production, forged from the creative minds of Will Marquiss and Mike Holliday. Their journey began in turntablism during their teenage years, leading to an impassioned dive into music production where Mystic State was born. Celebrated for their crystal-clear productions, they blend late 90’s jungle, dub, and ambient sounds. Their debut solo album, “My Own Private Island,” released under their label The Chikara Project, was acclaimed. Following this, they released exceptional tracks like “Mahdi,” “Tomahawk,” and “Gallows” on J’s Artikal Music, with more to come in 2024. They’ve been nominated for ‘Best Release’ at the Duploc Awards multiple times, receiving nods from Noisia, Truth, Calibre, Om Unit, and more. In 2023, they released “The Last Lotus” on Truth’s label Deep, Dark & Dangerous, considered some of their best work at the 140 tempo. Excelling into 2024, they are currently in the studio, creating their third solo album, continuing to innovate and shape electronic music globally.
